Alex has 8 dollars and buys a present for Max. Bob has 6 dollars and buys a book which costs the same price as the present that Alex bought. Daniel buys a car toy that costs the same price as the book Bob buys. Later, Daniel fins out he is in debt because his 8 dollars was borrowed. How much were the items that Alex, Bob and Daniel had bought? (Hint: Use parenthesis to show how much each person spent and used.)
In Seoul, the temperature was 8°F on Monday. Then, it dropped a certain amount of degrees. On Tuesday, the temperature was 6°F but it dropped the same number of degrees as it did on Monday. On Wednesday, the temperature was 8°F again and dropped the same amount of degrees as it did on Monday. If the sum of Monday’s and Tuesday’s final temperature subtracted by Wednesday’s temperature is 1, what was the amount of degrees the temperature dropped each day?
The Story fits with the equation well and it is functional. The Story does work, but the final sentence of the story problem also makes sense, but it is kind of confusing. (final temperature part). Overall, The good thing about this equation is that it fits really well with the equation, but the words are confusing.
1) The equation is correct and functional, however we had a hard time writing the equation.
2) It's sort of confusing because the wording isn't really that clear.
3) We corrected your grammar: In Seoul, the temperature was 8°F on Monday. Then it dropped a certain amount of degrees. On Tuesday, the temperature was 6°F, but it dropped the same number of degrees as it did on Monday. On Wednesday, the temperature was 8°F again, and dropped the same amount of degrees as it did on Monday. If the sum of Monday’s and Tuesday’s final temperature subtracted by Wednesday’s temperature is 1, what was the amount of degrees the temperature dropped each day?
4) It is creative.
5) We liked how you paragraph uses the temperature. It's really cool :D
The equation fits well with the problem, is functional and i would use this problem. It does make sense but in a way also confusing. The final temperature part can be improved if you divided them into separate cleared sentences. There aren't any grammar mistakes. The story creative but it would be better if you used something else rather than temperature. I liked the problem being simple but showing the equation exactly.
