Ryan buys 3 large pack of Rice Crispy, and there was certain number of crispy and 30 rice in each package. David bought 4 small packs of Rice Crispy, and there was same amount of crispy as the large pack but there were only 19 rice. If Ryan combines all his rice and crispy, it has the same amount as David’s rice and crispy combined. How many crispies are in each package?
The story fits really well with the equation and when I actually tried writing the equation with this story, it matched with the original equation. It wasn't that confusing too. To make the wordings better, you can say 'David bought 4 small packs of Rice Crispy which contained the same amount of crispy as the large pack but only 19 rice.' Also, you can say 'If Ryan combines all his rice and crispies, he has the same amount of rice and crispies as David.' I like how you compared the number of rice and crispies Ryan and David had for the equal sign.
1. The story fits with the equation and is functional, but it would be a bit challenging to write the same equation. 2. The story was confusing because people know Rice Krispies as one snack. People would not have thought that rice and krispy were two separate ingredients. You could change this by using different objects instead of rice and krispy. 3. There are several grammar mistakes. You need to change "buys" to "bought", "pack" should be "packs," "Rice Crispy" should be "Rice Krispies," there needs to be "a" after "was" in the first sentence, an "a" after "was" in the second sentence, and "crispy" needs to change to "krispies" (plural) in multiple places. 4. The story is creative but could be improved by making it less confusing. 5. Some positive points about the word problem is that it is creative.
