    There were many bunnies in a family. Then, they each all had their own family and surprisingly, they all had the same amount of bunnies in their new family that was in their original family. The original bunny family decided to have a family reunion. Some of the bunnies brought their close friends which added 4 more bunnies to the party. The total amount of bunnies at the party was 13. Christina bought a certain amount of candy in the same certain number of bags for a play date with April. Sheamin, the candy store owner loved Christina so much that she decided to put 4 extra candies in each bag. Christina was so happy that she gave Sheamin, the owner, a BIG HUG. When Christina met April, she told her about how the candy store owner is so courteous and how April should give her a big hug as well. April opened the candy bags and was wondering how many candies and bags there were after finding out that the total amount of candy was 21. Help April find the number of bags and candies before Sheamin's kind offer.

  8. Chanwu Oh/Ryan Choi/David KaoFebruary 19, 2012 at 6:10 PM

    Ryan, Chan and David owned a roast drumstick house. One day, they restocked and had 1 huge box of roast drumstick, and inside that box there was an unknown number of small boxes, each with an unknown number of roast drumsticks inside it. The number of small boxes in the huge box is equal to the number of drumsticks inside each small box. When the store closed that day at 6:00 P.M, they had sold 5 small boxes of roast drumsticks. They had counted the number of drumsticks they had left at the end of the day, which was 50. How many drumsticks were in each small box?

    equation
    x2-5x = 50
    x2-5x-50 = 0
    (x-10)(x+5) = 0
    x = {10,-5}
